Sferyx HTML Editor Applet
Integrated with Melete

The Etudes-NG implementation of Melete includes the
Sferyx JSyndrome HTMLEditor Applet
Edition. The version of Melete that released to the higher
education Sakai community includes FCK Editor, an open source JavaScript editor. The Etudes-NG bundle includes an editor preferences option in Melete,
allowing instructors to choose between Sferyx Editor Applet and the simpler JavaScript FCK Editor.
If you are interested in
running the Sferyx-enabled Melete version in your Sakai installation, you
must purchase a license and get the binary source from
Sferyx.
- For licensing or pricing of the Sferyx Editor,
contact sales at Sferyx. The OEM enterprise edition allows for
unlimited use of sferyx in your Sakai implementation. The license fees
are one-time.

- Browsers requirements for running the Sferyx editor
the same as those running Sakai. The only additional requirement is that
faculty authors download the Java plug-in.
Not needed by students.
- A MathML add-on will be released by Sferyx this
summer for the applet. It is at additional cost.
Sferyx JSyndrome HTMLEditor
Applet Edition is a Java TM applet intended for java developers who need
advanced HTML authoring into their tools. Sferyx is located in Switzerland
and has provided superb support to our developers at Foothill.

Browser Requirements & Plug-ins
NOTE: The WYSIWYG editor is a Java applet and takes a
while to load the first time. Once loaded into memory, it loads quickly in
all subsequent requests.
