Grading

The grading screen, lists all published assessments (open or closed), and allows instructors to see at a glance if there are any submissions to be evaluated. The only action from here is to grade assessments.

Clicking on an assessment's title or the grade icon, takes the instructor to the grading screen for the assessment.

Grading Assessments

Instructors can click on a student's name to grade individual student submissions. 

Grade Submissions

Instructors can grade test submissions by student.  

  • Instructors can view assessment activity by student
    • View date of submissions
    • View status of assessment (in progress, not started)
    • View number of tries completed and see how the student did in each
  • Instructors can see grading status (submitted, evaluated, released).
  • Instructors can adjust the scores of a question, even if auto-scored.
  • instructors can view correct/incorrect answers in submissions easily.
  • Instructors can view all submissions by a student (see "View All" above).
  • Instructors can add overall comments for a student's submission.
  • Instructors can add comments for each question, essay or objective.
  • Instructors are aided with pagination for large classes
  • Instructors can review reason for answer, if included.
  • Instructors can review a model answer, if they had provided it.
  • Instructors can open essays in full editor window for easier reading / commenting.
  • Instructors can mark-up a student's submission, insert comments inline, etc.
  • Instructors have a rich WYSIWYG editor in all input boxes.
    • Instructors can upload documents through the editor
    • Instructors can upload images and other media.
    • Instructors can embed hyperlinks to websites or resources.
  • Instructors can return attachments to students in every question.
  • Mark submissions as released (and un-release them!)

Instructors can choose to grade all responses to a question.

  • Time stamp of submission
  • View total score
  • Adjust scores by question
  • View correct/incorrect answers easily
  • Add overall comments
  • Add comments by question
  • Review reason for answer
  • View Model Answer
  • Open essays in separate windows (optionally)
  • Mark submissions as released (and unrelease)

Global Options

  • Instructors can adjust one or more grade submissions or for the whole class at once.
  • Instructors can mark all as released to make grades and comments visible to students.
  • Instructors can append final comments to the entire class at once

Global Options

Release Options

Instructors can mark a submission as evaluated for tracking what they have reviewed and evaluated or they can release to students. The score and grader comments of evaluated submissions are not visible to students until they are released.

Release Options

Submissions can be released individually (as in the above screen) or in bulk for the whole class, under global settings. Instructors may uncheck "Release grade to submitter" and retract a grade from the student's view and the gradebook. Comments and scores are visible to students as per test settings.
