JForum is an easy-to-use, yet robust tool that offers industry-standard functionality to users. Instructors can set up unlimited categories and forums, moderate topics (move, edit, delete, lock, or unlock), read recent topics and mark them as read, watch and bookmark topics, and much more. JForum comes with built-in private messaging that allows site members to communicate privately while discussing issues or collaborating on projects. JForum has a familiar (popular phpBB) graphical user interface. Additional popular functionality is support for private group work and ease of grading of discussion topics and forums.

Discussion Home

This is the default view of Jforum's discussion home. Instructors have the ability to delete the default forums and categories and create their own forums to discussion, questions, and group collaboration.

Jforum supports different types of topics and it's easy to navigate.

Topics and Replies

Site participants can communication privately while collaborating through Jforum's PM capability.

User Profile / Preferences

Managing Discussion

Jforum gives users the ability to mark the entire board as read, select topics, or one topic at a time. Additionally, users can click on 'recent topics' to see the latest posts.

• Jforum supports groups and sections. Instructors can establish private forums for group work and collaboration.
• Jforum includes rich grading of discussion forums and topics functionality, which can be optionally integrated with the gradebook. Instructors can give private feedback and scores to students for their contributions to posts.
• Jforum allows instructors to track contributions (i.e. number of posts per forum or number of replies per topic).
