neemee
neme is a muse. In Greek mythology, the nine muses were "a guiding spirit" and "a source of inspiration". Like Melete (Lesson Builder), Mneme has been a source of inspiration for the users, trainers, and developers who have been involved in their evolution. If you can't say Mneme, just drop the "m" and say 'neme'. Emphasis on the first syllabus. That's very close to the Greek pronunciation. Please do not say 'meme'.

The name for the application was chosen by Technical Lead, Glenn Golden, in November of 2006, for his delivery code. Glenn and his daughter, Gracie, practiced saying Mneme for a full weekend, and the name for the tool was born. Muse and Ambrosia were chosen in collaboration with Vivie Sinou to complete the theme of our work. Tasks, Tests & Surveys is the tool label of Mneme for end users.

In Greek mythology, Mneme was one of the three original (Boeotian) Muses, daughters of Mnemosyne; though there were later nine. Her sisters were Melete and Aoide. Mneme was the muse of memory. Mneme will be integrated with Melete in the fall of 2007 (conditional release of modules based on test completion and scores), bringing the two sisters together. :)

In the current use of the word, Mneme is a unit of cultural information, such as a cultural practice or idea, that is transmitted verbally or by repeated action from one mind to another.

Mneme (or Jupiter XL) is also a retrograde irregular satellite of Jupiter. It was discovered by a team of astronomers from the University of Hawaii led by Scott S. Sheppard, et al. in 2003.

Mmene is fueled by Ambrosia, food of the gods. Ambrosia is a presentation technology developed by Glenn Golden for Mneme, which may be adopted by other Sakai tools, as well.
